Our fleet and how we select the right vehicle
Our fleet includes rigid Hiab vehicles, articulated flatbeds, long-reach cranes, Moffetts, wagon-and-drag combinations and a selection of trailers. This allows us to support lifting operations, transport and deliveries for a wide variety of loads.
Our experienced team discusses each customer's individual requirements before selecting a vehicle. We consider the verified load weight and dimensions, lifting points, access, required reach, route and final position to ensure that the proposed wagon has suitable capability.
A major advantage of a Hiab lorry is its ability to lift and transport using one coordinated vehicle. For example, we can collect an item from a supplier, transport it to a construction site and offload or position it at the required location.
Lifting and transportation throughout the UK
We operate throughout Lancashire and nationwide, including Lancaster, Preston, Chorley, Burnley, Clitheroe, Blackpool, Blackburn, Bamber Bridge, Accrington and Leyland. Collections and deliveries can also be arranged throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
Every lift is different. The load, weight, lifting radius and access at both locations must be assessed before we confirm the appropriate vehicle and method. Our team is available to discuss personalised lifting and transport requirements and the information needed for a quotation.
Contracts, complex lifts and site planning
Our lorry-mounted cranes can operate at heights and on projects that require detailed planning and full crane controls. For more complex lifting operations, we can provide an appointed person, site visits, lift plans, and generic or site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Where required, our office team can help coordinate road closures or parking suspensions. On the appointed date we can provide the driver/operator and a slinger or banksman when included within the agreed scope.
Every stage—from lifting and transport through to final positioning or installation—is coordinated by our experienced team. Drivers and crane operators are certified, and lifting equipment is maintained, serviced and subject to the inspections and thorough examinations required under LOLER. Our operators also have extensive experience working in narrow streets, restricted sites, private buildings and public areas.

- Site visits and lift plans where required

What is a Hiab lorry?
HIAB is a well-known manufacturer name that has become commonly used to describe a crane mounted on a lorry. It combines lifting equipment and a transport vehicle, which can remove the need to arrange a stand-alone crane and a separate lorry when the load, reach and site conditions are suitable.
Using one operated crane lorry can reduce the number of vehicles required on site and simplify collection, lifting, transport and delivery. Any necessary permissions, operating space and traffic controls are reviewed as part of planning the individual job.
